We Sing Pop! Song Contest 2020 Results

Selected winners of the We Sing Pop! Song contest 2020 will have an opportunity to perform at the Isaac Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall on June 12, 2022 at 2:00 PM, as a part of American Protégé Summer Gala Concert.

Ciana Tzuo has loved performing since the first time she stepped onto the stage, singing Food Glorious Food from Oliver. Her performances since have included piano, ballet, chorus, and musical theater. She played little Sherie in a local, professional production of Rock of Ages in Shanghai, and amateur solo performances in Chicago, Smile, Matilda, and Our Town. Ciana has trained at the Manhattan School of Music, Broadway Artists Alliance, Joffrey Ballet, Ballet Academy East, and New York Vocal Coaching. She has won multiple Excellent Gold and Silver Awards in multiple International piano and vocal competitions. Ciana was born in 2009 in San Francisco and spent the last 5 years in Shanghai attending a local primary school. She recently moved to NYC to attend Horace Mann in the Bronx. Outside of the performing arts, Ciana is active in golf, skiing, debate, and leadership roles in the community. |

Phoebe Tian is a 14-year-old from Massachusetts who loves to sing, play instruments, write songs, and produce music. Phoebe’s influences come from the r&b and pop genre. In June, 2017 First Place in “Hong Kong 4th International Music Children’s Festival”. She was also invited to Serbia in September 2018 to perform at the Ethiopia Cultural Exchange Press Release Concert on national television. Phoebe’s passion for music started when she was young, and ever since she’s been focusing on improving her musicianship. |

Ayan Nath is an avid music enthusiast, singer, songwriter, music composer, and percussionist. He is currently a junior at the Harker School, San Jose, California. Ayan has been singing and playing instruments since he was six years old and participated in various music events around the SF Bay Area, including Stanford Jazz Festival. In 2017, Ayan became California state ambassador of IndianRaga for Hindustani Percussion. In 2018-19, Ayan won the International Music Talent Competition in the folk music category. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Ayan is spending time writing songs, making music, and singing under the artist name ‘Holyrico’ and collaborating with other singers and musicians. He released his debut music album ‘Galvanized’ on all online music platforms, including Spotify and Amazon, and has released eleven original songs so far. |
Ian Allen, is a 17 year old senior at City High School in Iowa City, IA and has been singing his entire life. He aspires to be a recording artist in the future and is currently recording an EP of original songs. In 2020 he won First place at the NATS Central Region Competition and was a semifinalist in the Hal Leonard Vocal Competition. He has performed in several local theater productions and was the lead in “James and the Giant Peach” in 2017. He has been a member of the 4th Ave Jazz Co (show choir) since 2017 and won Best Male Vocalist in 3 competitions in 2018-2019 season. In 2017 he was given the National School Choral Award and invited to participate in the Opus Honor Choir in both 2015 and 2017. Ian loves to perform and wants to share his passion for music with the world. |

Lovella Varner, eleven years old, is a lifelong student of music and performing arts. She is determined to nurture her talents and translate them into a source of joy, inspiration, and motivation for others. Based in Coralville, Iowa, Lovella has been making a reputation for herself through live performances across the region. She has become a regular cast member of Nolty Academy and Young Footliters. She recently performed as a solo set in Wellmen, IA. Lovella is growing her skills on flute, guitar, and piano. However, her voice is the instrument she has concentrated on since she could walk. That early focus earned her a beautifully refined voice and impressive flexibility. Lovella is dedicated to becoming the best vocalist she can be, so she continues to learn and adapt to a wide variety of musical genres and eras. Additionally, Lovella is mastering her voice with the acclaimed Fryvecind Voice Studio. |
Sarah Qistina Lim, 10 is a passionate and creative girl ravished by her passion in singing, acting and dancing. Her instinctiveness and natural ease on stage and screen make her a delight to watch. Sarah is blessed with a rare gift, Absolute Pitch or Perfect Pitch, which is a bonus to her musical skillset. Sarah is officially recognized for her Perfect Pitch and is listed in The Malaysia Book of Records. Sarah is the 2019 First Prize Gold Medal winner (Broadway/Musical Theatre) for her age category in The American Protégé International Vocal Competition. She has performed at the Winners Recital as well as at the American Protégé Winter Gala Concert in Carnegie Hall in December 2019. Sarah has also won First Prize in several other international vocal competitions which include The International Association Of Art “The Muse” Vocal Competition 2020 and The V Geneva International Music (Vocal) Competition 2020. Sarah also emerged as a Gold Medalist at the World Championship Of Performing Arts (WCOPA) 2020 Virtual Competition in Vocal (Jr) category. |
